Process

Once VITA have offered you a place on our course you will be issued with a ‘Learning and Funding letter’. This is emailed to you with instructions on how to apply for the Advanced Learning Loan.

Upon completing your application, you need to print and sign the declaration form and return it Advanced Learning Loan company (address below). If you have applied with your passport this is all they require to authorise your funding.

If you are applying with a birth certificate you will need to complete the following steps.

  1. Print the Birth Certificate form
  2. Complete the form and ensure your countersignature details are completed and correct (ANY MISSING EVIDENCE WILL RESULT IN YOUR APPLICATION BEING REJECTED)
  3. Put all the documents; signed declaration form. Original birth certificate, birth certificate form completed and the evidence return form in an envelope and post to: Advanced Learner Loan, PO BOX 302, Darlington, DL1 9NQ
  4. We strongly recommend that you send ALL documentation via recorded delivery to ensure safe receipt of any documents that you may send to Student Finance

If your applying in a different name to your birth certificate, you will need to follow the same process as above, but you will be required to send your marriage certificate or legal confirmation of name change in addition to the birth certificate steps.
